Shared Services is seeking to recruit two experienced Facilities Project Managers to join their team in Newcastle West. The Property Services division leads and manages the Property Shared Services team for the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
As a Facilities Project Manager, you will oversee projects from the scoping and design phases through to completion. Supporting the management of $1.7 billion in assets, you will handle a diverse portfolio that includes small, concurrent projects as well as programs of work derived from our asset management system. Your role will involve providing guidance on property assets, implementing our design guidelines to ensure value for money, functional spaces, and environmental sustainability. The goal is to ensure the effective and proactive use of assets across the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and its associated agencies.
You will coordinate both major and minor projects under the direction of the Manager of Strategic Assets, working across various Diocesan properties. As part of the broader Property team, you will collaborate with a facilities team, five senior project managers, and a construction manager overseeing an annual CAPEX of over $150 million.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager - Assets will be responsible for the coordination of major and minor projects under the supervision of the Manager of Strategic Assets and the Construction Manager. The Projects Manager will also be responsible for maintenance duties/tasks across the various Diocesan assets.
The incumbent commits to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct at all times whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a corporate office environment.
- Experience in Facilities Management, Construction Management, and or Project Management.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, and accounting systems).
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated decision making/problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in report preparation.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of head contracts.
- Effectively administer minor/major projects or maintenance-based related duties/tasks to ensure a timely and efficient completion of the head contract and subcontracts.
- Ability to administer contracts.
- Experience in using electronic records management system(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management and/or Project Management and or extensive experience in a similar role.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Desirable)
