Senior Legal Counsel - Top ASX Listed Co. (5+ PQE)

CKG has been exclusively instructed by a leading ASX Listed corporate, one of Australia's largest employers and most recognisable brands.

Our client is seeking a senior commercial lawyer and they can offer:

Working closely with a decentralised legal function, the Senior Legal Counsel responsibilities include:

  • Advising on commercial, corporate, and regulatory legal matters.
  • Providing operational legal advice and support across the business.
  • Managing junior team members (2 direct reports).
  • Advising on whistleblower protection obligations and privacy law.
  • Advising on a range of trade promotional and marketing materials.
  • Reviewing and amending a broad variety of commercial agreements.
  • Championing ethical practices and compliance.
  • Liaising with and managing external counsel and regulatory bodies.

Our client's requirements include:

  • Law degree and a current Practising Certificate (Australian Jurisdiction).
  • 5+ years PQE of relevant experience (law firm and/or in-house).
  • Strong commercial drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working across general commercial matters, including commercial contracts, consumer law, IP/IT, marketing, CapEx, privacy, and/or corporate law.
  • Experience advising or working with clients operating in highly regulated industries.
  • Experience mentoring/supervising junior lawyers will be viewed favourably. 
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and a variety of stakeholders.
