Are you ready to kick-start your career in data analytics and financial performance? We are looking for a Junior Commercial Analyst to join our dynamic Financial Performance and Assurance team. This role is integral to the Business Planning and Analysis team, where you will utilise advanced data analytics to provide robust month-end reporting, meet external regulatory obligations, and produce reports that enable more effective, timely, and informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Analysis: Provide analysis of relevant research and operational information, assisting managers in evaluating and integrating the information they receive.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Gather and analyse relevant data to assist with budgeting, team operations, and production of regular reports.
  • Financial Modelling and Reporting: Manipulate, analyse, and synthesise large volumes of data using automation tools (e.g., Power Pivots and Power BI). Develop dashboard reporting using data visualisation tools.
  • Commercial Support: Provide direct data, insight, and analytical support to the Senior Commercial Analyst and team. Engage in commercial modelling for new service models, contracts, and changes in operational regulations.
  • Benchmarking: Conduct internal benchmarking of similar projects and external benchmarking where possible.
  • Data Governance: Assist in the formulation of, and prepare documentation for, financial and operational data governance, data catalogue, and data quality assurance processes.

Operational Processes:

  • Month-End and Budgeting: Support the month-end, budget, and rolling forecast work streams.
  • Regulatory Obligations: Ensure the timely completion of regulatory obligations.
  • Communication: Provide clear and succinct communication materials.
  • Initiatives and Process Improvement: Actively support new initiatives relating to systems, processes, and operations to maximise financial performance.
  • Proactively identify and highlight opportunities and significant challenges, including potential financial impacts.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance.
  • Current membership with the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) institute.
  • Partial qualification is acceptable, please indicate in the application form your current status.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a finance analyst or commercial/business analyst role, supporting a business segment with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in producing accurate and timely management reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and analysing large volumes of data and drawing key insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organised, systematic, thorough, accurate, and disciplined.
  • Ability to navigate a complex organisation and forge strong relationships.
  • Exceptional eye for detail
  • Ambition and a desire to learn and grow as a commercial analyst.

Even better

  • Experience with Power BI (or similar).
  • Experience in Residential Aged Care and Home and Community Care.
