Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Purchasing Manager at Good & Fugly in Alexandria. Reporting to the Head Of Operations, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process of perishable and non-perishable items, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining relationships with vendors. You will also be in charge of inventory management, pricing analysis, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Additionally, you will collaborate with various teams to optimize purchasing strategies and contribute to the overall success of the company. Some interstate travel is on the cards as we enter this exciting growth period branching into new locations and launching new products that align with our mission.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven experience as a warehouse manager or similar role
  • Ability to lead and manage a small team
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in the fruit and vegetable industry is extremely desirable but not essential
  • Quality assurance experience
  • Intermediate computer skills (Google Docs, Excel)
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience in procurement

About You

To be considered for this role you will be/have:

  • A good problem solver, as the perishable industry is always unpredictable.
  • A great communicator(verbal and written), who is excited about being involved in a growing business.
  • Be an early riser As we get started early in the day .Some early morning market visits will be required
  • Be able to take direction and work autonomously, always making decisions with the company's best interest in mind.
  • Have a strong "get it done " attitude.
