Managing Director, Head of Business

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional to join our organization as the Head of Business in Australia, with a focus on the cryptocurrency industry. As the industry continues to evolve and expand, we require a visionary leader who can drive our business growth, establish strategic partnerships, and navigate the regulatory landscape.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for our cryptocurrency operations in Australia, aligning with the global organizational objectives. Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability.
- Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the cryptocurrency industry. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, financial institutions, technology partners, and industry associations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of local and international cryptocurrency regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to establish robust frameworks and risk management processes.
- Team Management: Lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and support. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and professional development.
- Market Analysis: Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences. Utilize insights to drive product development, marketing strategies, and customer acquisition.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting activities for the Australian operations. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Brand Building: Enhance the company's reputation and brand positioning in the cryptocurrency industry. Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and media engagements. Act as a thought leader and contribute to industry publications.
Requirement
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA) would be advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on cryptocurrency or blockchain technology. Proven track record in driving business growth, forging strategic partnerships, and managing P&L responsibilities.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency industry, including blockchain technology, digital assets, decentralized finance (DeFi), and regulatory frameworks. Familiarity with Australian financial regulations is highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and evolving industry. Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Regulatory Compliance: Thorough knowledge of cryptocurrency regulations and compliance requirements in Australia. Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Proactive, self-motivated, and result-oriented. Comfortable working in a startup-like environment with a high level of ambiguity and rapid changes. Ability to identify and seize business opportunities.
- Integrity and Ethics: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all business dealings. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
