Program Overview

Join our courageous and compassionate team at St Johns Young Men's Shelter (St Johns). As Specialist Youth Homelessness Program, Anglicare NQ provides Temporary Supported Accommodation and supports to young men who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to work towards stability in their living arrangements, provide an environment of inclusion and respect, work towards addressing specific needs identified utilising a case management framework. Specific target groups are young men aged 16 to 25 years, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, providing an immediate response to homelessness. The shelter supports young people to meet their immediate personal needs and work towards obtaining stable, long-term accommodation as soon as possible.

To Be Successful You Will Need

  • Proven case management experience using a holistic and client centered approach to managing your case load.
  • Extensive experience working in government funded programs with strict budgetary and contractual requirements of service. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, community organisations, and other service providers to provide efficient and effective services to clients. 
  • Knowledge of organisational programs, policies and operations. 
  • Industry relevant qualifications or relevant industry experience. 
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities will be highly regarded
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds will be highly regarded

Compliance

  • A current QLD Drivers Licence 'Class C' or interstate equivalent. 
  • Blue Card (Working with children card)
  • A current national police check (within the last 3 months)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate

Across the region ANQL employs over 200 staff and volunteers and encourages in its operations social diversity, access and inclusion, community and consumer participation (where this is applicable).

The organisation is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors based providing regional representation and the operations are managed by the Chief Executive Officer. ANQL board members are committed to being independent in nature, taking ultimate responsibility in ensuring effective mechanisms are in place that enable collective decision making, with clear policies and procedures to ensure that all legal, ethical and social responsibilities are fulfilled.
