Senior Electrical Project Engineer

About the Role:Our client is a very well-established NSW government statutory corporation responsible for supplying the state’s bulk water needs, operating the state’s river systems and dams, and the bulk water supply system for Greater Sydney. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer - Electrical Specialist for a 12-month assignment in Parramatta, NSW.
Candidates for this position must have qualifications in Electrical Engineering, coupled with strong experience in the Water OR Civil construction industry. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will provide expert electrical engineering advice and technical guidance for Project Delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Develop and design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and communications.
- Conduct detailed electrical calculations and simulations to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide expert advice.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Please note you will primarily be working from our client's Parramatta office. Hybrid working arrangements are available where you will work approximately 2 days in office/on-site each week. Projects include sites around NSW, focusing on programs of Electrical upgrades at remote sites on Weir gates, dam assets, and industrial cranes.
About You:You will be an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer with proven reliability in previous roles.
Requirements for the Successful Candidate:- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years in the Water OR Civil construction industry
- Experience on low, medium, and high voltage projects
- Thorough working knowledge and application of all Australian Electrical Standards and Industry Guidelines, combined with working knowledge of SCADA and control systems
- Benefit of working on multi-discipline Engineering works would be a big advantage
