About the opportunity

Australia Post is establishing a holistic approach to how it addresses process excellence enabling the acceleration of continuous improvement programs of work. The establishment of a federated operating model will create enterprise consistency of methodologies, tools, processes and overall capability – governed centrally and executed within each business area.

The Industrial / Process Engineer is accountable for evaluating, designing and overseeing the implementation of best practice operational processes across all areas of the network.

What you’ll deliver with us

  • Analyse existing operational processes to identify opportunities to optimise and increase efficiency
  • Review resource utilisation, production schedules and capacity plans to meet production targets and customer demand.
  • Develop implementation strategies and test identified opportunities
  • Document future state processes, Key Performance Indicators and Quality Assurance controls
  • Design efficient and ergonomic workstations, and operational layouts, ensuring adherence to safety requirements within prescribed regulatory and Australia Post safety standards / procedures.
  • Contribute to commercial outcomes and manages the expenditure and benefits realisation
  • Ensure alignment to budget and expenditure that supports the enterprise profit objectives

About you

You will have a strong understanding of LEAN principles and have experience implementing continuous improvement processes within a labour-intensive, Industrialised workforce

You’ll also need

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, including the application of DMAIC principles to improvement initiatives.
  • Strong commitment to safety, backed by a practical understanding of ergonomics and Functional Safety principles.
