TheOpportunity

As a Data Engineer, you willsupport the growth of analytics initiatives in WesCEF by data setcreation, curation and enabling analytics use case delivery,including advanced analytics, while working closely with datascientists and other key stakeholders.

Reporting to the Analytics andDevelopment Manager as part of the wider Data and Digital team, youwill work across WesCEF on a range of data and analytics projectsand improvements and, given the diversity of our businessportfolio, you will work with a broad range of data includingmultiple operational plants, weather data, and customeranalytics.

Our Data & Digital team arebuilding out advanced analytic campaigns related to productionoptimisation, leveraging for example computer vision and a key setof Generative AI uses cases. You will gain exposure to theseprojects and contribute to the transition to Azure, exploring MLStudio, Synapse and Purview.

You will leverage Azure DataFactory and Synapse to enable ETL processes, making data availablein data lakes and data models. Power BI plays a critical role indata visualisations, for example plant dashboards which aredeveloped and maintained by our team, alongside increasing use ofPower Platforms.

As part of our commitment topersonal research and development you will have time allocatedmonthly for R&D.

While this role is initiallybased in Murdoch, please note that our Murdoch office will berelocating to Perth CBD in late 2025.

About You

You will have demonstratedexperience in data engineering, sound experience with dataacquisition, data set process development, analytics programs, anda relevant Tertiary education.

In addition you will have:

  • Significant experience with data pipelines and dataengineering tools
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft platforms, such asAzure and Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience in SQL, Python or similarlanguages
  • A key focus on delivering value-adding solutions andunderstanding how your work has impact
  • A customer centric approach and possess the credibility toinfluence at a senior level
  • Contribute to a strong team culture, and collaborate inorder to manage competing demands and deadlines
  • Are available for travel to Murdoch and Kwinana Operationswhen needed.
