Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12–25-year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We are now seeking a Clinical Team Leader to join our team where you will be an engaging and inspiring leader to oversee the delivery of high-quality digital and in-person programs to young people impacted by cancer. This is a high-impact role for a qualified Clinical Team Leader with a natural ability to connect and support.

- Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $15,900 of your salary tax-free).
- 5 Weeks Annual Leave.
About our role
- Develop a cohesive team dynamic across the two states, ensuring equity of support across all service areas.
- Lead and develop a team of Psychosocial Clinicians to deliver high quality and evidence based therapeutic and case management support to ensure young people and families are supported through their cancer experience.
- Provide active and engaging direct line management, leadership, modelling, and guidance to Psychosocial Clinicians across both states, including ensuring KPIs and service deliverables are being met.
- Oversee and manage the provision of individual assessment, support planning and counselling of young people living with cancer.
- In conjunction with the State Manager and Program Team Leader, provide support to enable programs to young people to be delivered to a high quality and professional standard, on time, within budget and in accordance with KPI’s and direction from the Head of Clinical Practice and Reconciliation, Head of Programs and Youth Leadership and the National Clinical Advisor team.
- Build effective relationships with relevant external stakeholders such as hospital teams, outpatient clinics, other cancer support organisations and the wider community sector to build effective care pathways and networks.
- Participate in working groups and committees as part of Canteen’s commitment to cross organisational collaboration.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (psychology, social work, counselling).
- Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority) or eligibility for membership of the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers), PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) or similar peak accreditation body.
- Experience in managing psychosocial teams with demonstrated ability to develop an effective team culture and high performance.
- Proven experience in building effective relationships with external stakeholders to drive organisational awareness and service growth.
- Working with Children Check, current Australian drivers’ license and Covid-19 vaccination.
- Outstanding communication skills and a natural ability to connect.

*Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.
