Role Responsibilities
- Design,develop,and maintain APIs using API gateways,API catalogs,and service mesh technologies.
- Implement strong API security practices,including authentication,authorization,and encryption.
- Define and enforce API governance policies and procedures.
- Manage the entire API lifecycle,from design and development to deployment,operation,and retirement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product,engineering,security) to define and implement API strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest API trends and technologies.
- Apply Cloud SRE principles to ensure reliability and scalability of the API platform.
- Understand BIAN service domains and semantic models for standards compliant API design.
Skills/Experience
- 7+ years of experience as an API Platform Engineer or Architect or similar role.
- Strong understanding of API gateways,API catalogs,and service mesh technologies (e.g.,Kong,Apigee,Tyk,Istio).
- Experience with Cloud platforms (e.g.,AWS,Azure,GCP).
- Proven ability to design and implement secure and scalable APIs.
- Experience with API governance frameworks and best practices.
- Familiarity with API-first development principles.
- Experience with Cloud SRE practices.
- Understanding of BIAN service domains and semantic models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Continuous learner with a passion for technology.
