Our digital transformation is well underway, but there's still plenty more to do Join us on this exciting journey and be a part of the future. We have an exciting opportunity at Metcash for a Senior Data Analyst in our ALM (Liquor) division.
The Data and Insights team operates at the intersection of business, information technology, and external vendors. We strive to be valued business partners and advisors, deeply understanding the strategic direction and needs of the business. Our team collaborates to provide insights on problems, opportunities, and market trends, helping to shape successful business decisions and generate innovative ideas. We translate business and technical requirements into modern reporting solutions.
In this Role You Will be…
• Responsible for leading and coaching one direct report (Data Analyst).
• Work closely with both IT data and business teams to translate and document technical and business requirements into reporting and analytical solutions.
• Build and maintain robust data models to support analysis and reporting, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
• Perform reconciliation and user acceptance testing activities for all newly developed assets, checking for completeness and integrity against established requirements.
• Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards that communicate performance, trends, and insights to leadership and stakeholders.
• Supports the rollout and adoption of data analytics products and projects, coordinating with cross- functional teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Help drive efficiency by identifying opportunities for automation.
• Support the Business Data and Insights Manager to build a positive working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders and IT teams to ensure optimal engagement and contribution.
• Stay informed of best practice and emerging trends in project management analysis, data visualisation and reporting tools to continuously enhance reporting capabilities.

• Extensive experience in data and analytics within large organizations
• Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI including DAX (enterprise level)
• Proficient in collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Resilient problem-solver who thrives on tackling challenges
• Ability to work and perform in a complex and changing environment.
• Strong proficiency in managing priorities independently, effective written and verbal communication, and maintaining relationships
• Building and maintaining relationships, communication (written and verbal), influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Personable and encouraging nature – willing to learn, share and support
• An absolute team player who likes to collaborate
• A good sense of humour and an ability to express yourself
