About the business and role
SLR Consulting is a rapidly growing professional services consultancy with over 3,000 multi-discipline consultants across Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe and North America, and 750 staff in APAC.

Due to our continued growth and expanding project pipeline, there is a fantastic opportunity for an experience Urban Planner to join our APAC Planning team in Townsville. Our team is made up of a group of highly skilled and motivated Planners with an enthusiastic approach to life and work. We currently service a pipeline of energy transition, renewable energy, industrial, commercial and health projects. In our Townsville team you will work closely with a highly experienced Principal Planner, as well as the wider national Planning team in Brisbane, Newcastle, and Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities 
The ideal candidates will have:

• Planning analysis and research and confident in delivering exceptional results
• Managing projects without direct supervision (or working towards)
• Compiling of large project packages for statutory approvals and permits 
• Preparing feasibility reports and due diligence advice
• Briefing and managing specialist subcontractors
• Business development and high-level client relationship management 

Skills and experience
Not only will you bring a great attitude and enthusiastic approach to your work, you will also have:

• A degree in town planning (Bachelors minimum, Masters advantageous)
• You will have 2-8 years working experience, preferably within a consulting business, with direct experience in a town planning, property and development.
• Excellent report writing skills
• Ability to work across multiple sectors, (predominantly Infrastructure, Renewables & Energy Transition)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to function effectively within a high performing team
