This incredible ole will provide you with a rare opportunity to work as a Senior Management Accountant or Plant Accountant for a successful, complex manufacturing and mining services business that is a successful joint venture between two prominent blue-chip organisations. The stand-alone business has a demonstrated track record of amazing results, largely due to a well-respected Board and strong management team. This role represents a prime opportunity to position yourself as a Commercial Manager in future. The role will be a three-month contract. There is a permanent option available if you are interested in exploring it.

The Position

Based in Central Queensland, this role will require FIFO from Brisbane or a capital city. Alternatively, you can be residentially based for a few months. Travel costs and accommodation will be provided.

Skills

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be able to use your business partnering, commercial and analysis skills to improve the overall running and performance of the business while also working to improve the depth and quality of reporting. You will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with stakeholders on the operations side to better understand the key drivers in the business.
  • Analysing various performance and operational KPIs to drive efficiencies.
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process as well as CAPEX reporting.
  • Managing the end-of-month financial and management reporting while being supported by a small team
  • Reviewing the end-of-month reporting and tax compliance.

What this Role will do for you:

This role will help broaden your commercial exposure, leadership abilities and analysis skills and will help position you for a Commercial Manager position within several years.

Your Profile

  • You will have a substantial competitive advantage if you have strong manufacturing industry experience. Alternatively, you have worked in construction, mining or heavy industry.
  • To be a serious contender for this position, you will need to demonstrate broad experience across management and financial accounting.
  • You should be passionate about adding value to the operational side of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to empower you to build relationships with key stakeholders will be critical.
  • You will have worked on large ERP systems such as SAP, JDE or Pronto and have strong Excel skills.
