This opening is Hybrid in our Sydney Office.

General Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Axe Group’s hosted applications including the AWS/EKS cloud infrastructure and deployment lifecycle. Reporting directly to the CIO, this role requires leading a small team of DevOps engineers, collaborating with delivery, security and service desk teams, as well as suppliers, to ensure the security, availability, cost, and general compliance requirements are met.

You will use your understanding of platform engineering principles, and expertise in CI/CD practices, to maintain the environment, and develop improvement strategies.

Being dynamic, organised, able to work with competing priorities, and being well-versed in change management, business continuity and incident response planning, are critical requirements of this role.

Responsibility:

  • Maintaining Axe Group's environments required to build, test and run applications.
  • Manage the DevSecOps team and collaborate with other teams to manage applications and security
  • Develop and support the tools and processes needed to facilitate the deployment of new releases
  • Manage service continuity and incident response
  • Manage the continuous improvement of environments and processes.
  • Monitor usage and related costs, driving cost-optimisation.
  • Identify potential risks, escalating when required.
  • Enforce standard methodologies, processes and tools and ensure compliance to enterprise architecture, global information security policies, procedures, and overall firm strategy
  • Monitor the system for issues and provide proactive responses.

 Skills required are:

  • Excellent logic, problem-solving and research skills
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders including C-level
  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud platform architecture, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation and CI/CD (Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins and Bitbucket pipelines, Helm)
  • Proficient knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and modern scripting language (Go, Python)
  • Experience with the deployment and maintenance of databases
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services such as AWS
  • Manage competing priorities and stay calm under pressure
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Security policies and best practices
  • Experience in compliance and audit processes (CPS234, SOC2, ISO27001) and in managing sensitive data.
  • Experience in managing incidents and ensuring system is restored within RPO/RTO
  • Strong team and thought leader
