Randstad is partnering with one of the world's largest ASX-listed mining companies to find a new lead for their dynamic data values team.

This full-time permanent role involves identifying, maximising, and implementing value-adding capabilities and performance improvement opportunities across the company's asset value chain.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
  1. Lead Value Engineering Projects: Plan and oversee the identification and delivery of value engineering projects, including capital productivity initiatives and value optimisation.
  2. Enhance Project Value: Identify alternative engineering design options through creative thinking.
  3. Identify Improvement Opportunities: Discover short, medium, and long-term capability, performance improvement, and value engineering opportunities across the client's value chain.
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with operations and stakeholders to identify, define, and structure business problems, including context, success measures, and potential challenges.
  5. Provide Technical Support: Support and collaborate with value engineering leads, principals, specialists, and asset project teams, providing technical direction, expertise, and reviews.
  6. Complex Problem-Solving: Use a planned and structured approach to define and evaluate multiple solutions to complex problems, and communicate results, insights, and recommendations to guide actions and decision-making.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical Leadership: 3+ years of recent experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Programming Skills: 4+ years of experience with Python and SQL.
  • Project Support: Proven experience supporting and delivering projects or studies in engineering, heavy industry, or infrastructure.
  • Educational Background: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management: Experience in project scoping, planning, and executing work using a disciplined approach to achieve project goals.
  • Communication Skills: Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders with various expertise and experience levels.
  • Matrix Work Environment: Familiarity with complex matrix work environments and the ability to navigate stakeholders using influencing, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Degree in project management, engineering, management, or related disciplines is preferred but not essential.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading teams and enhancing their capability and growth.
  • Technical Expertise: Ability to provide technical leadership within projects and enhance the capabilities of direct reports.
