How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?
As our new Lead Process Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the QLD Industrial team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable. Not to mention playing a key part in the exciting space of Hydrogen production.
Your role will include:
- Engaging with different teams across our projects to reach successful outcomes for the client
- Leading conceptual scopes in pre-feasibility and feasibility stages
- Delivering detailed design studies for a range of clients
- Supporting and working in pre-FEED and FEED studies for both greenfield and brownfield projects
- A willingness to teach and mentor younger engineers to grow their technical skills and boost their confidence
- Ability to contribute to capability and systems development
- Interest and passion in circular economies with a view to drive down emissions and improving sustainability across industry
- Leading project process engineering team in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages
- Participate and gain exposure in HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID and other safety in design workshops

What are we looking for from you?
You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future. We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. As well as experience in a similar process engineering role we are looking for:
- Appropriate qualifications in Chemical Engineering
- RPEQ qualification
- Experience in the design of hydrogen and ammonia facilities will be very highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in Chemical/Process Engineering roles, ideally as a Lead
- Prior experience in leading detailed design scopes and multidisciplinary/interface management
- Thorough knowledge of project delivery/ implementation models
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience managing teams of engineers across different disciplines to help our clients navigate complex challenges
- Strong experience in thermodynamic process simulation packages (e.g. HYSYS / UNISIM / PETROSIM etc)
- Previous exposure to EPC/EPCM delivery would be advantageous
