About the Role:

The role will give you exposure to the entire risk universe for a retail bank, a rare opportunity that few other organisations can provide.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and embedding Alex Bank's risk management framework, with extensive engagement across the bank.

You will ideally have a strong understanding of risk and compliance frameworks within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, embed, and oversee our risk frameworks.
  • Contribute towards Board and management risk reporting, including building out appropriate risk metrics.
  • Development and execution of 2nd line control assurance plans, including testing the effectiveness of key controls.
  • Supporting oversight and development of business continuity and contingency planning.
  • 2nd line oversight of projects and change management initiatives.
  • Provide high-quality risk advice, training, and support to business units.
  • Drive the development of risk culture and engagement across the business.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, information security, or other relevant discipline.
  • Strong risk and/or compliance experience will be highly regarded, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework applying to the banking sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a team player with strong commercial acumen, writing & presentation skills.
  • A self-starter, with attention to detail and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
