About the Role 

ECKA is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Accounts/Payroll Assistant. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the administration on our payroll system and supporting our accounts department. The successful candidate will work closely with our Accountant and External payroll provider to ensure the smooth operation of our payroll processes.

The role is a Part time position for .5 FTE with flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide timely and accurate processing for end-to-end payroll for approximately 150-200 employees on a fortnightly basis using ADP
  • Input and analyse payroll data accurately, ensuring precise employee entitlements in compliance with awards, EBAs and legislation.
  • Input and maintain accurate employee payroll records whilst ensuring data integrity including: Processing new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Maintain a calendar of staff anniversary/incremental dates
  • Ensure payroll compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and deductions
  • Assist with payroll inquiries and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with the Accountant to identify and implement process improvements

Key Selection Criteria 

The successful Applicant will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll administration or related fields (preferred but not required)
  • The ability to cultivate and uphold a positive work environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Sharepoint.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Excellent problem solving and judgment skills coupled with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exemplary time management skills 
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and proficiency with calculations
