Situated just 6km from Melbourne's CBD, Maribyrnong City Council is a diverse and vibrant city undergoing significant change in population growth, redevelopment, gentrification, and a transitioning economy bringing an influx of new residents, businesses and opportunities. With a growing population approaching 100,000 residents, comes a need for increased infrastructure and services, greater connectivity and transport options, environmental sustainability, managed urban growth, liveability and improved community outcomes. Maribyrnong City Council is seeking a dynamic, contemporary people leader to help deliver on their vision for an inclusive, flourishing, progressive city that cares for both its residents and its environment.
This role is key to managing the People, Culture and Performance function in a complex operating environment with over 750 employees across 60 different services and multiple sites. Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this is a key strategic senior leadership role. This role will be responsible for uplifting people capability across the function and the organisation more broadly, improving existing systems and driving a strong customer focus. This strategic role will develop and deliver across all pivotal human resource areas including workforce planning, organisational development and capability, culture, Health Safety and Wellbeing and Corporate Planning and Performance. The aim of this position is to ensure outstanding service delivery for the community through effective analysis and continuous improvement of the entire employee lifecycle. Another key aspect of this role is the implementation of the organisational performance framework alongside the requirement for this role to be a key strategic advisor to the executive leadership team and CEO.

An ability to drive change and lead through influence is essential for this role.
