Key Relationships:

  • Reports To: General Manager - Engineering
  • Key Internal Relationships: Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Other Discipline Leads (Process and Mechanical)
  • Key External Relationships: Clients/Client Representatives, Suppliers, External Engineering Consultants

Purpose of Role: Manage the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Team, including external consultants when required, to deliver timely and high-quality outcomes on new products/projects as well as Management of Change on existing designs.

The role requires strong people management skills to manage the team, as well as working closely with inter-discipline design leads, and both Manufacturing and Operations personnel to ensure ongoing continuous product improvement.

The role also requires a strong technical candidate to lead the team and make key EIC decisions, including developing and signing off on EIC design deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • RPEQ (highly regarded)
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (highly regarded)

Experience:

  • Minimum two years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Design experience in multi-discipline applications
  • At least 10 years of experience as a design Engineer
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Team leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong mathematic and technical skills.
  • Basic computer skills including document and spreadsheet software.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time.

Accountability & Responsibilities:

  • Team lead, supervise and mentor the EIC team to develop, review and approve EIC Engineering design documents to ensure that they meet customer (internal and external) requirements and standards.
  • Problem solve to develop solutions to emergent issues during design, manufacturing and operations
  • Ensure compliance with all stakeholders.
  • Work with manufacturing and operations to achieve continuous improvements in products and designs

Legislative Requirements:

  • Compliance with all applicable standards, codes, policy, contract and procedure requirements
  • Ethical business conduct
  • Industry and project induction and other project requirements

Key Performance Indicators – Measured Outcomes:

  • Timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Quality and attention to detail in tasks performed
  • Other KPI’s as agreed with the General Manager - Engineering
