The Role
We are a leading professional data recovery services company seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our robust infrastructure across various platforms, ensuring the highest level of performance and security.
The perfect fit will have expertise in Windows Server and Desktop administration, along with proficiency in managing virtualized environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and Maintain Systems: Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of Windows Server and Desktop administration.
- Virtualized Environments: Administer VMWare environments, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Networking Support: Provide support for networking issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Performing the operational establishment and preventive maintenance of backups, and recovery procedures, and enforcing security and integrity controls.
- Assessing and recommending improvements to network operations and integrated hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Exposure to concepts such as virtualization, configuration management, source management, and application deployment.
- Troubleshooting and providing service support in diagnosing, and resolving software malfunctions.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation, policies, instructions, recording and detailing operational procedures, and system logs.
- Maintain and improve internal IT systems/platforms and quality assurance (testing)
- Workstation and server builds including software installation and configuration
- Recommending policy and procedural modifications and improving operations through system analysis.
- Advising on product procurement, testing, and approval, as well as obtaining and licensing software.
- Mentoring new interns and providing support to junior admins.
Requirements before applying for this role:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience and Knowledge in the field of data recovery from failed storage devices including hard disk drives and solid state drives is highly desired.
Desirable Skills:
- Electronic Repair using soldering iron/heat gun and multimetre to be able to repair faults with hard disk drives and solid state drives as part of managing data storage for the business.
- Experience using Ace Labs PC-3000 software and hardware tools for system area backup and repair of hard disk drives and solid state drives.
- Experience in replacing heads and hardware repair of failed hard disk drives.
- Experience in customer service to explain issues/faults and provide updates on support ticket progress.
