At Investa we are seeking a Senior Finance Manager, who will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive financial support to Investa Funds Management. This hands-on position involves managing a small team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial and tax reporting, manage finance compliance matters, and provide support to the General Manager Finance Business Partner and the broader Funds Management team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of high quality, timely audited financial statements in line with accounting and investor requirements.
  • Satisfactory and timely resolution of any tax or financial reporting matters.
  • Ensuring month end processes are performed in an efficient and timely manner including the production of high quality and accurate output.
  • Be a leader within your team whilst supporting the development of the rest of the Finance team.
  • Lead and ensure timely and accurate delivery of fund monthly unit pricing, monthly and quarterly reporting (financial information).
  • Oversee Financial Reporting, including annual Financial Reports, managing external audits, and ensuring compliance with IFRS/AASB and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare Fund trust budgets and track performance.
  • Manage tax reporting, including income tax, GST returns, depreciation, and distributions.
  • Analyse and review balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
  • Assist in resolving any accounting technical matters and prepare accounting papers.
  • Interface effectively with the internal and external Tax team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of payments, including fund distributions.
  • Provide recommendations regarding policies and governance issues.
  • Identify and report potential risks to statutory compliance early.
  • Prepare and review all debt compliance covenant certificates.
  • Prepare materials and attend the Management Accounts Committee.
  • Lead and manage all team members, including partnered service providers, to ensure skill and knowledge development contributing to Investa's results.
  • Foster innovation, continual improvement, and a growth mindset in financial and tax reporting functions, including systems, reports, and processes.
  • Manage people matters, including employment and performance.

Qualifications:
  • Commerce or Business / Commerce Degree majoring in Accounting (required).
  • Professional qualifications: CA or CPA (desirable, but not essential).

Experience:
  • People management and leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/AASB and financial regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and reporting systems.
  • Experience in preparation of Statutory Reports and Income Tax Returns for Trusts and Companies.
  • Experience within property sector.
  • Experience in dealing at the most senior level of an organisation.

Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Hands on approach to getting the job done and strong attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and team development both within direct team and a broader matrixed finance group.
  • Sound negotiation & influencing skills at all levels.
  • Learning agility and ability to think laterally about challenges and problems.
