ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY      The University of Notre Dame Australia is a private Catholic University with over 1,000 permanent staff providing an exceptional educational experience to over 12,000 students across our Fremantle, Broome, and Sydney campuses, as well as clinical schools in Victoria and New South Wales.      ABOUT THE OFFICE      The Information Technology Office plays an integral role in the success of the University ensuring the national provision of technology solutions that enable Learning & Teaching, Research and Administration across our University. The Information Technology Office embeds an operating model with a view to enabling a greater level of engagement across the University, proactively serving as trusted advisors in the identification and prioritisation of continuous improvement initiatives and the delivery of digital technology change, whilst ensuring the ongoing availability of the IT environment.ABOUT THE ROLE      The Senior Technical Analyst is responsible for lifecycle management of business applications assigned to them by IT management. This role is focused on ensuring that applications and digital services are well maintained, regularly upgraded, functional enhancements are delivered as prioritised. The Senior Technical Analyst provides both technical and functional expertise and provides leadership and coaching to Technical Analysts.Key Responsibilities      
  • Undertake Business Application Leadership, including a range of system administration duties for the various business applications, including configuration, enhancements, upgrades, installation, debugging, security and maintenance
  • Significant application development and implementation including major upgrades, provide proactive monitoring and fine tuning of application performance, integrity and availability
  • Effectively manage production and non-production environments, troubleshooting and resolving issues as required.
  • Provide reporting and metrics in relation to environment usage, systems and application performance, monitoring integrity and availability.
  • Responsible and accountable for co-ordination of the installation, testing and implementation of upgrades and patches made available by the system vendor, and adherence to Change Management processes
  • Actively monitor, and seek opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products focused on digital automation to the advancement of the University.
  • Provide technical expertise to develop and support the University’s business applications, digital forms, and collaboration services; including but not limited to:
    • Configure, code and script applications based on business requirements
    • Analyse, design, develop, test and implement technical solutions and services to support University’s digital roadmap
    • Perform server administration tasks ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Provide peer-review to ensure that the application enhancements meet design and build standards and contribute positively to the team environment, mentoring junior team members
  • Develop technical requirements based on user functional requirements, and business process requirements, keeping accurate and complete records, procedures and operational documentation, and contributing to IT knowledge management practices
Qualifications, skills & experience      
  • Relevant post graduate tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience delivering technical solutions that focus on digitisation and workflow, automation, collaboration services and process improvement
  • Experience working with modern workplace technologies including but not limited to PeopleSoft, Blackboard, Microsoft365, digital workflow tools, Jira/Confluence, ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Platform
  • Thorough understanding of the underpinning concepts of Digital Automation and the opportunities and benefits this offers to an organisation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business analysis concepts and methodologies, such as process mapping and process optimisation
  • Proven planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, including the ability to establish and adhere to agreed project timeframes and deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability with outcome focused solutions.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including ability to prepare and present communications for stakeholder groups at varying levels as well as well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills, building credibility and demonstrating professionalism.
  • Ability to accept and deal with ambiguous situations; a proven sense of urgency; a sense of knowing when to escalate
  • Demonstrated skills in the analysis, assessment, design, specification, development, testing, implementation and support of enterprise-level computer-based applications
