Facilitation/ co-management role to support our citywide network of community arts organisations to work together to share best practice, training, funding, and advocate for creativity in communities.


Based at WHALE Arts in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, with travel across Edinburgh.
14 hours / 2 days per week
Fixed term to 31 March 2026.
£27,500 pro rata.

WHALE Arts are looking for a proactive, experienced Creative Community Hubs Lead to co-facilitate, administer and co-manage our Creative Hubs project.

WHALE Arts is a building-based and place-based community-led charity and social enterprise, founded by local people in 1992. Our mission is to be the creative heart of thriving community.
Role description
Co facilitate knowledge sharing workshops and network activities.
Administration - managing budgets, finance, data, newsletter, coordinating events and activities
Reporting and evaluation for funders and others
Liasing with City of Edinburgh Council as programme funders.
Advocacy for the Network via written reports, presentations and public speaking with the Network Facilitator.
Developing partnerships with the culture sector, academia, Scottish Government, funders and others to support the ambitions of the network, share good practice and research
Supporting WHALE Arts Community Development and Placemaking work with the community of Wester Hailes.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a small team
• Has an enquiring mind keen to explore new ways of collaborative working
• Is a passionate advocate of grassroots and community-based arts practices
• Has a proven track record of facilitation and/or fundraising
• Is well-organised, hard-working and a good team player.
• Is highly skilled in time management, work planning and organisation.
• Has excellent communication skills and can interact with and support individuals from a range of backgrounds.
• Can think expansively, recognise opportunities and challenge assumptions.
• Understands the issues facing people living in areas of deprivation.
• Is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
