The Role: As a Senior FPGA Engineer, you will be an integral part of our technology team, working in tandem with our Tech Lead and diverse cross-functional groups. Your role is pivotal in shaping architectural visions and transforming design blueprints into high-performance FPGA solutions. Mastery in hardware description languages, including Verilog and VHDL, is crucial for developing designs that meet our rigorous standards for performance and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the tech lead and team to architect, develop, and refine FPGA solutions.
- Offer technical guidance, assist in problem-solving, and provide insights on FPGA-specific design challenges.
- Ensure design and code quality by adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Facilitate seamless integration and functionality in partnership with hardware and software teams.
- Enhance performance through techniques such as pipelining, parallel processing, and memory optimization.
- Document design decisions, implementation details, and troubleshooting guidelines for reference.
- Oversee testing and verification processes to confirm design compliance with requirements.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering their growth in FPGA design expertise.
- Evaluate new technologies with vendors and stay abreast of FPGA industry trends.
- Commit to continuous learning, integrating new technologies and methodologies into our workflow.
What We Expect:
- A PhD in Electronic Engineering or a related field with equivalent work experience, or;
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in FPGA development and complex simulations, preferably with Modelsim or Questa.
- Familiarity with communication protocols and interfaces such as UDP, TCP/IP, PCI-E, QDR, and DDR3.
- Python development skills and experience with the Cocotb library for verification are advantageous.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a collaborative spirit.
- Experience in the financial sector, particularly with market feeds, order execution APIs, and derivatives trading, is beneficial.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts with clarity.
