About the role

As Supervisor (Transfer Station) you will be part of the Resource Recovery team and responsible for planning and supervisorion of waste collection and resource recovery operations. Your main focus will be on safety, customer service and team management.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • provide leadership to the work group by ensuring resource recovery waste services have adequate resources to meet daily safety and operational objectives
  • safe and effective management of your team including support, guidance and performance development
  • monitor and review operations to meet key performance indicators and ensure operational objectives are achieved
  • facilitate and perform weighbridge operations, including customer management, cash management and end of trading tasks
  • ensure daily pre-start site and equipment inspections occur, including notifications to relevant Council staff when issues arise

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • relevant professional qualification and/or substantial equivalent experience in waste management or other relevant field
  • the ability to operate some or all of the following classes of equipment:
    • LB (backhoe)
    • LE (excavator)
    • LL (front-end loader)
    • LZ (dozer)
  • high-risk work (HRW) forklift licence ideal
  • the ability to provide customer service to customers and visitors of the facility
  • monitor and maintain a safe working environment
  • belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
  • medical (including drug and alchol screening)
  • criminal history check

About the benefits

This is a permanent position, LGE Level 13 with a base salary commencing at $76,027 plus 32.5% shift loading ($100,735) plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
