The Opportunity:
This premier Australian commercial law firm, with multiple national offices, provides strategic legal and commercial advice to a diverse range of Australian and international corporations, high-net-worth individuals, and large family businesses. The firm is renowned for its innovative, commercially focused advice and involvement in some of the country's most significant transactions.

The Role:
A full-time, 12-month contract opportunity exists within the Commercial team in Sydney, working across a wide range of duties on high-profile matters. This role involves providing secretarial support to two partners and several lawyers, offering the opportunity to work on various high-level tasks. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and a collaborative hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative assistance, including typing and collating various legal documents.
  • Prepare memos and email communications.
  • Enter timesheet data and prepare client accounts (billing).
  • Manage files and diaries, including travel bookings.
  • Maintain and archive files, including electronic file management and email management.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a committed, proactive, and service-oriented approach to work, with the following skills and experience:
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a legal secretary.
  • First-class organizational and communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (particularly Outlook and Word).
  • Accurate typing, spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience in timesheet data entry and client account preparation (billing).
  • Previous experience in private practice.
  • Knowledge of Expert software (desirable).
