The Role

Premcar is experiencing rapid growth and is currently seeking a Production Manager to oversee the day to day running of our Manufacturing area.

The successful applicant will lead the production function within requiredtimeframes and budget, output targets meet quality and customer requirements and standards. 

The role has full accountability for ensuring safety obligations are met across production, promoting continuous improvement, utilising modern and lean manufacturing principles, and developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing, you will:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice production/manufacturing vision, design, processes, SOPs and employeetraining and instruction programs/guides to ensureoptimal operational performance.
  • Support the deployment of an Operational Excellence framework for all manufacturing environments.
  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing team leaders. 
  • Manage the production to required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications meeting quality and delivery expectations.
  • Forecast and communicate with other departmental managers regarding stock, supply and dispatch.
  • Manage and schedule maintenance efficiently.
  • Produce timely and accurate production reports. Perform root cause analysis. and resolve problems. Conduct risk assessments of process andtasks.
  • Ensure that production operatesin accordance with all health,safety.
  • and environmental policies and procedures, including establishing a proactive safety culture amongst employees.

To be considered for the position, candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Production Manager.
  • Automotive background preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • At least 5 years team leadership experience.
