The Role

Freo Group is currently looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee a team of technicians and contractors at our maintenance facility in Welshpool. This role is ideal for someone interested in building their own team, setting up a facility, and implementing processes to enhance operational efficiency. The greater Freo Group will provide support by investing in infrastructure and offering opportunities for personal growth through training and development while enabling you to build up your team through mentoring and leading apprentices to develop your training capabilities.

Reporting to the "Maintenance Planner - Major Inspections" your key measures of success include:

  • Work with OEM suppliers and internal resources to plan, resource and execute 10-year inspections on time, and within budget
  • Look for opportunities for savings of company expenses and capital through diversification of the supply chain
  • Maintain productivity of major workshop(s) teams through effective benchmarking and management
  • Increase Profit on Sales through the effective establishment of used equipment distribution networks
  • Promote LEAN and organisational efficiency in workshop operations
  • Provide visible leadership in the branch network, and promote positive safety behaviours
  • Establish best-in-class facilities for the refurbishment of cranes, trailers and vehicles
  • Effectively communicate with the broader business to enable post-repair scheduling and planning, as well as effectively scheduling incoming equipment to minimise equipment downtime

You will have:

  • Crane and/or Equipment Refurbishment Experience
  • Experience running and establishing high-capital equipment workshops

Desired but not essential:

  • LEAN/6-Sigma Qualifications or Exposure
  • Experience working with/for a major OEM
  • Established history of developing Junior Technicians/Apprentices
