The role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Northern Region Medfin covering both QLD and NSW to join the team. The Head Of will be responsible for providing core leadership across the team while championing the delivery process for customers. They will be responsible for the customer value propositions, maximisation of income growth and market penetration within those chosen markets. The Head Of will effectively manage the risk profile and asset quality of the Medfin lending portfolio.

  • Sales management: you're even tempered in balancing the strong focus on the value to customer through sales and service, whilst managing the need for competitive pricing, product delivery and the right solutions for individual customer needs.
  • Operational efficiency: known for your innovative and adaptive leadership style, you will action the right levers internally and externally, to optimise outcomes for the team, provide strategic direction on operations, change and risk management and operational efficiency.
  • Risk & delivery against plan: your proactive and pragmatic in managing costs, monitoring operational risk and assurance requirements, and driving continuous improvement of processes to optimise performance through embedding operational excellence & technology enablers.

In this role you'll have the opportunity to

  • Formulate, propose, gain agreement to and implement annual business plans to deliver income targets for the area
  • Review, agree and monitor the individual business and income generation plans of each Relationship Manager and Business Development Manager
  • Coach direct reports in effective leadership activities under the NAB's Distinctive Leadership framework
  • Implement specific local competitive campaigns and initiatives geared to achieving growth in interest and non-interest income and increased market share penetration, and associated targets.
  • Personally develop and manage Referral partners.
  • Continuously assess the quality of service provided to customers, ensuring Medfin's service provision is of the highest quality, develop measures and processes to assess service levels and to identify potential improvements.
  • Ensure Relationship Managers (RMs) and Business Development Managers (BDMs) comply fully at all times with credit processes, policies and procedures and achieve the correct balance between growth in Medfin income and the effective management of risk including portfolio asset quality.
  • Ensure that Relationship Managers pro-actively identify and maximise all income generation and referral opportunities, and that a significant proportion of each RMs time is spent on relationship management.
  • Coach, mentor, develop, train and maintain a skilled, motivated team of RMs and BDMs

What you'll bring

  • Significant banking background in either business, private, corporate, credit, or specialised business, or equivalent professional experience in a related career.
  • Experience leading teams, developing strategies, and executing on those strategies.
  • A deep understanding of the legal, risk and regulatory environment of the function and business
  • A passion for delivering for customers with excellence.
  • Managing a business with revenue and cost accountabilities.
  • Sales and operations management (for e.g., maximising income mix, pipeline management, prospecting, and acquisition)
  • Experience in collaborating with colleagues and industry bodies to achieve outstanding results for your customers and the business.
