We are seeking talented and dedicated Prep Cooks who are passionate about people, quality food and great coffee to join our team at Merlo Coffee Russell Street, Toowoomba

This role will involve supporting the Kitchen Manager in executing menu items that complement our high-quality coffee offerings, ensuring that every dish is prepared to perfection and delivers an unforgettable dining experience for our customers.

What the role does

• Ingredient preparation for breakfast and lunch daily
• Assistance with plating and other general kitchen duties
• Preparation of sandwiches, salads and a range of cabinet food
• Assistance with pastry and dessert preparation where needed
• Cleaning and maintenance of cooking and food preparation areas
• Setup and/or shutdown of kitchen
• Ensuring all food safety and quality standards are followed and maintained

About you

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar role
• Certificate or working towards a certification in Hospitality or Cookery
• Kitchen organisation: manage the workflow and meet preparation targets, complete food safety checklists and other OH&S procedures, order stock and food items for the store
• A fun, hardworking and energetic attitude towards work 
• Food safety and hygiene knowledge
• Fast hands and an ability to work autonomously
