Accountant

You’re not a graduate and perhaps aren’t quite at the level of a senior accountant yet… but want to be in future. Accountants manage a set of clients and their associated tasks on a day to day basis with a focus on: meeting deadlines, communicating with the team around them and ensuring that clients are not just happy, but stoked to be working with us. They will take direction from both the Senior Accountant and the Manager.
Your role:- Be responsible for running own individual work/job report
- Support Senior Accountant and Manager by completing required tasks
- Prepare BAS / ITRs / Financial Statements
- Run review process on BAS and individual ITRs and send to client
- Assist with preparation for Tax Planning meetings
- Prepare for VCFO meetings and Management reporting meetings where required
- Proactively make suggestions on improved client systems and processes
- Draft response to client queries for Senior Accountant approval
- Manage and track weekly utilisation (Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet)
- If under-utilised, proactively communicate with manager for more work
- If over-utilised, proactively communicate with managers to assess client work
- Review and allocate mail folder, and communicate with Senior Accountant/Manager if unsure
- Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
- Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
