DevOps CI/CD | System Engineer

Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 2200 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries. In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 170+ colleagues and is growing. In this position you are part of a highly motivated team that strives to automate and optimize our build and delivery pipeline to the best possible extent. You are responsible for designing and operating efficient mechanisms that enable fast feedback to development teams. We are developing for a safety critical environment, following industry standards, where high availability and redundancy is a basic requirement.
Key Tasks
- Take part of the System team consisting Test Automation Engineers, DevOps Engineers
- Setup, run and maintain the CI/CD chain and tooling (incl. deploying to multiple targets)
- Setup and maintain formal test environments
- Offer support to the teams that are using the common CI/CD pipelines developed
- Identify with the development teams automatable processes and automate them
- Support the continuous system level integration of our platform and products
- All tasks will be done keeping in mind that we are operating in a safety critical domain
- Experience in configuration management and deployment tools (Puppet, Ansible)
- Docker and its ecosystem
- Experience with continuous delivery pipelines and build tools (Jenkins, Maven)
- Experience with network and application monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana/ Zabbix) would be a plus
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python) and a mindset to treat infrastructure as code
- Understanding and experience of using REST API
- Ability to feedback positive and negative observations to developers
- Linux (RHEL) deployment and administration
- IP networking know-how
- Good English skills (both written and spoken)
- Experienced with working in an Agile team
