Senior Assessment Operations Officer

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government established under the Education (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) Act 2014. In collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and partner agencies, the QCAA plays a critical role in the design and delivery of education in Queensland. The QCAA is responsible for kindergarten guideline and senior secondary syllabus development, and for providing resources and services to help teachers develop curriculum, teaching and learning programs from kindergarten to Year 12. It also provides testing, assessment, moderation, certification, and vocational education and training services to the Queensland education community.
In the role of Senior Assessment Operations Officer, you will:
- Provide operational advice on all aspects of the administration of assessment programs to the Manager, Principal Assessment Operations Officer and senior officers and stakeholders across the sector.
- Build staff capacity by working with Principal Assessment Operations Officers and other Senior Assessment Operations Officers to ensure staff are used flexibly across teams to support peak workloads and have the capability of performing a diverse range of activities.
- Manage peak workloads by working with Principal Assessment Operations Officers to enable planned workload sharing with other divisions and units.
- Manage relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes, including the tracking of progress to meet critical deadlines.
- Communicate information relating to assessment programs to relevant stakeholders and facilitate the resolution of service delivery issues on behalf of stakeholders.
- Establish, manage and quality assure processes for designated aspects of assessment programs.
- Author and/or coordinate the production of documents on the administration, marking and reporting of the tests, test variations and student participation and conduct across all programs.
- Develop a schedule with the Principal Assessment Operations Officers to regularly review and evaluate procedures, systems and data management with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation and flexibility.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Principal Assessment Operations Officers and/or the Manager of the Assessment Operations Unit.
- Contribute to a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your supervisor.
