The Finance Manager position is with one of Melbourne’s leading private residential property developers. Established in 2009,ID_Land is an award-winning residential property developer, focusing on inner city apartments, medium density townhouses and greenfield land subdivision projects with a portfolio currently in excess of $3.5billion.
ID_Land is part of ID_Corp. The group of companies now encompasses property developer ID_Land, fund manager Title Capital, land lease communities Next Living and homebuilder Shape Homes. The group allows each business to continue focusing on its respective area of expertise; ID_Land developing and delivering high quality residential communities, Title Capital presenting opportunities to invest in ID Corp projects, Next Living delivering affordable resort style living to over 50s and Shape Homes constructing homes across Melbourne’s most-popular growth areas.
The Finance Manager will be primarily be responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day accounting and financial aspects across the ID_Corp group of companies.
Position Overview

The Finance Manager will be primarily be responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day accounting and financial aspects across the ID_Corp group of companies.
Responsibilities & Duties Financial Accounting, Compliance and Reporting- Co-ordinate and oversee the monthly reporting and month-end process including:
- Collation of monthly project expenditure summaries for the Development team and Managing Director for review and approval
- Loading of monthly project expenditure into project feasibilities
- Review of monthly trial balances and management accounts for corporate Head of Group, Project and Family Group entities
- Review and analysis of variance to forecast of project expenditure with the Development team.
- Work closely with various stakeholders on project feasibility, profitability and cashflow forecasting.
- Co-ordinate the annual year-end compliance process with external advisors.
- Lead other ad-hoc taxation compliance matters including, but not limited to Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR), Business Activity Statement (BAS), Land Tax and Annual Tax Planning process.
Banking,
Treasury and Cash
- Liaise with various project financiers, development team and other stakeholders regarding project funding, drawdowns and repayments.
- Forecasting and monitoring of group cash and liquidity.
- Preparation of short term and long term consolidated group cashflow.
- Work with the Development team on short term equity requirements.
- Maintenance and management of all banking related matters, including opening/closing of bank accounts, setup of bank guarantees, management of banking portal limits as and when required.
- Ensure timely processing of debt drawdowns in collaboration with Development staff.
- Co-ordinate payments of monthly project expenditure with the Accounts Payable Manager.
- Liaising with external Joint Venture partners in relation to project or venture equity calls.
- Oversee a small team of direct reports (Management Accountant, Graduate Accountant, and Accounts Payable Manager), providing input and guidance where and when required.
General
- Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance and broader team as required.
- Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures across the business.
- Conduct other ad hoc duties and projects as required.
- At least 6 to 8 years post graduate experience in an accounting or finance role
- Experience in a property development or construction business
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and proficient in the preparation and collation of financial reports.
- Excellent understanding of corporate and business structures.
- Experience with Argus EstateMaster or project feasibility software is highly desirable.
- Understanding of relevant taxation laws and the application of them in a business environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Relevant Degree (Business, Commerce, Accounting)
- Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountant
- Problem Solving - Uses analytical thinking to identify & resolve problems using own expertise, rigorous methods & available resources.
- Time Management - Ability to meet deadlines.
- Communication - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Clear communicator that can work closely with people across all levels of an organisation.

- Finance Expertise - Applies technical financial skills for effective financial management.
- Measurement and Reporting - Applies effective methods for measuring and reporting the financial performance of the business.
- Proactive Collaboration - Actively looks for opportunities to engage others and work collaboratively with them to find integrative solutions, facilitate accomplishment of goals and positively impact business performance.
