Angle Auto Finance is an independent financier in Australia, bringing a modern platform and a flexible business approach to help more Australians with their car purchase.

Collection activities at Angle Auto Finance are currently outsourced to a partner known as National Credit Management Limited (NCML) who is a subsidiary of the publicly listed company Credit Corp. Angle Auto Finance also works with other external partners including Auction Houses, Mercantile Agents and Debt Collection Agencies.

The Executive Manager – Collections, will report to the Head of Collections and is responsible for driving operational performance & compliance of the delinquent portfolio while maintaining & developing relationships with external partners. 

In this role you will leverage your leadership skills working with internal and external stakeholders to optimise day to day operational collections activities, asset remarketing and loss recovery programs. 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Supervise and track operational collection activities undertaken by external partners 
  • Perform analysis on collection activities and results
  • Identify opportunities & implement actions to optimise collection activities with internal and external stakeholders to drive incremental performance
  • Report and present collections results to internal & external stakeholders 
  • Facilitate regular performance reviews with external stakeholders 
  • Contribute to loss projection and asset recovery forecasting 
  • Contribute to strategic planning of E2E collections activities 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational processes to improve customer experience, gain efficiency, improve financial outcomes & compliance
  • Contribute to the design & implementation of new processes or functionality 
  • Ensure standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and controls are being adhered to on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain ownership of operational risk incidents and remediation plans

  • Manage objective setting, planning & scheduling for complex internal & external stakeholder relationships, monitor progress and report outcomes
  • Lead resolution and remediation of incidents
  • Manage resource allocation & prioritisation

  • Works effectively in a team towards common objectives and communicates progress & outcomes effectively
  • Acts as a mentor, sharing industry insights and guides others
  • Ability to influence outcomes by bringing internal and external stakeholders on a journey, creating a shared vision
  • Builds networks in cross functional teams, demonstrating subject matter expertise
  • Provides effective direction, and develops capability, to internal and external stakeholders to lead working groups
  • Supports or backfill Head of Collections duties as required

Qualifications & Experience;

  • Demonstrated experience in successful debt collection of regulated financial products with a debt collections agency, bank or non-bank funder 
  • Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities and leading change in a continuous improvement environment
  • Thorough knowledge & appreciation of regulated financial products compliance requirements – ie, Debt Collection Guidelines, required notices, hardship, complaints, etc 
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including senior management & external partners
