Housing Australia is Australia’s national housing agency. Our expertise is bringing social and affordable housing projects to life by facilitating financing structures that provide certainty for investors, governments and community housing providers.
On 15 January 2024 we commenced the first funding round to support the delivery of 40,000 social and affordable homes under the Housing Australia Future Fund Facility (HAFFF) and the National Housing Accord Facility (NHAF). This five year program will have a significant legacy impact on the nation’s housing challenges. Now is an exciting time to join us as we expand our operations and grow our organisation.

About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to lead our Deal Execution function within our Origination team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enhancing your career executing a broad range of deals.
Key aspects of leading our deal execution function include:
- spearheading the full legal execution process for all our lending transactions, ensuring seamless and superior outcomes
- serving as theprimary point of contact for the deal team, collaborating closely with Originators, Transaction Managers, Legal Counsel and Treasury to provide vital transactional support
- co-ordinating and driving transactions involving complex deal structures (including multi-layered capital structures) to financial close and settlement which includes negotiation, documentation and addressing all conditions precedent/subsequent
- managing risk by seeking credit approval for any transaction variations to the initial credit approval
- fosteringthe growth and development of junior team members, furthering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- proactively engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure alignment and success
- staying updated on entity-wide risk policies and contribute to governance, reporting and data quality requirements of our lending portfolio.
About you
- over five years experiencein debt structuring, legal negotiation and execution focused on infrastructure and/or property finance lending transactions
- proficient in finance agreements and loan documentation, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- excellent ability to identify and assess potential risks in transactions, and address and resolve issues with appropriate stakeholders
- effective people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide team members
- excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, coupled with clarity of thought in managing multiple work streams within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- strong relationship skills, enabling confident interaction with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- proactive in identifying challenges and providing effective solutions to resolve issues
- superior written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
- tertiary qualifications in Law, Accounting, Business or Finance.
