Greenlands Equipment is a leading specialist in water management solutions, irrigation systems, and solar pumping. We deliver a wide range of quality equipment and services across the mining, agriculture, commercial, and industrial sectors. Due to a significant increase in awarded contracts, we are seeking a Project Manager to join our experienced team and contribute to our rapidly expanding business.

The Project Manager will work with our project team to deliver turnkey mine bore field packages and mine dewatering solutions to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team with a great culture and contribute to a growing business. 

The Project Manager will undertake a wide range of critical activities, including but not limited to the following; 

Client Contact:

  • Liaising closely with key client contacts such as mine superintendents, mine managers, client project managers, and lead project engineers throughout the project duration.

Project Management:

  • Develop and manage handover documents to ensure the project is handed over from the sales department to the project department.
  • Keeping track of project variations, and providing details to the Client; 
  • Managing drafting and submission of mechanical and electrical drawings, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the design criteria are achieved. 
  • Selecting of pumping equipment.
  • Develop work orders for the manufacture of equipment within the workshop.
  • Create a bill of materials for manufacturing equipment as part of the project and materials required for site installation.
  • Obtaining quotations from suppliers for required goods and services within the agreed project budget. 
  • Working with the admin team to raise purchase orders for materials required for the project.
  • Managing site installation works, including reviewing site crew timesheets.
  • Managing the project budget. 
  • Working with the admin team to organise all logistics to the site. 
  • Working with the admin team to mobilise the installation crew to the site. 
  • Scheduling of Crew & Equipment including Forecasting required workforce, planning of mobilisation and demobilisation, and organising tooling of installation needed and infrastructure. 

Documentation: 

  • Develop site-specific documents such as installation methodologies, JSA ITPs, etc. 
  • Develop, review and submit Manufacturer’s Data Reports (MDR) 
  • Develop Factory & Site Acceptance Testing documents curated for each project.

Reporting: 

  • Providing Clients and where relevant suppliers with project schedules and project updates. 

Sub-Contractor Management: 

  • Engage, Supervise, and drive subcontractors to deliver on agreed services, ensuring they comply with set completion time frames and agreed costs and that work is of a high standard. Subcontractors are mainly engaged in the manufacture and electrical installation of pump control systems. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Ensure QA is met throughout the installation and commissioning phase of the project. 

Site Works: 

  • Travel to the site to conduct site kick-off meetings, site progress inspections, site commissioning and handover meetings.

As you can see, the role is one where the successful candidate will have to wear several hats and have exceptional administration and technical skills, be willing to work on the tools, have client management/people skills, time management and planning skills to be able to meet the responsibilities of the role.

Having in-depth knowledge and experience of our equipment type is the central area of focus, where candidates who have worked in the installation and commissioning of the following equipment are high on our list;

  • Bore Field Head Works
  • Mine water management systems.

  • Possess high attention to detail and accuracy in all work tasks.
  • Is a problem solver with initiative and a positive attitude that is solutions-driven. A “Can Do” attitude is imperative.
