About the opportunity:
The Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking two Specialist Teachers - Sensory Disability (Hearing and Vision) to work within the Inclusive Learning Team to support our Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students and promoting a professional and rewarding working life for teachers.
The Specialist Teacher is accountable for:
Understanding and supporting inclusive practice in school culture in relation to the effective implementation of personalised learning and adjustments for students with additional needs and disability
Understanding and supporting the Personalised Planning process and identification of adjustments
Providing specialised teaching support services to schools aimed at building teacher capacity using a gradual release model
Providing expert advice to leadership teams, teachers and the wider system on matters related to specific disabilities and/or additional needs in accordance with CSPD guidelines
Working collaboratively to ensure inclusion, access and participation and to maximise learning outcomes for students with additional needs.
About you:
To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment with the purpose and core values of CSPD along with:
Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
Post graduate qualifications in Deaf or hard of hearing and Vision or related field
Previous experience working with vulnerable students
Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with leaders, teachers and students and support an inclusive learning environment
Hold a valid NSW Drivers licence & have the ability to travel between our schools

The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPD’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
