Commercial/Corporate Finance Leader

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring Energy Australia invests its money wisely through robust due diligence, market analysis and rigorous deal/contract negotiations & execution. This will encompass various transactions such as M&A, JV/Partnerships and major CAPEX investment. Specifically, you will be responsible for;
- Identifying opportunities that align with Energy Australia’s strategy, market conditions and competitive strengths.
- Leading the development of concepts and business cases to determine the merits and risks of proposed transactions.
- Driving greenfield projects from business case to investment decision
- Development of internal and external networks to effectively identify and build support for opportunities.
- Coordinating market advisors to develop industry outlooks to inform our generation investment decisions.
- Leading a highly motivated and engaged team to deliver on key business objectives.
About you
This role should appeal to a senior Corporate Finance Leader with considerable experience across the full gamut of transaction advisory, development and execution. You have led teams in identifying and developing investment opportunities in either an investment banking/advisory services capacity or in a client-side function (preferably a combination of both) and you have a deep interest and experience in the energy sector.
Additionally, you will bring;
- Outstanding senior level influencing capability and presentation skills
- Strong project management capabilities including a good understanding of project management methodologies
- Superior commercial acumen and heightened ability to build complex, whole of business financial models including financial statements and valuations
- Credibility as both a thought leader and a leader of people; you know how to harness the right resources to deliver the high value outcomes.
