PermanentThe roleDavid Jones exists to inspire like no other and as we continue to deliver on our ambitious transformation agenda in line with our Vision 2025+ strategy, we are committed to creating inspired careers so our people can Thrive.The Commercial Finance Manager will be a crucial partner to our Marketing and Finance leaders to support the ongoing delivery of existing programs around Finance Services and Amplify, as well as the development and facilitation of new projects over the next 2 years.Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will be responsible for partnering with Marketing and Finance leadership teams, to set and manage financial targets and achieve short-term and long-term strategic goals in-line with the Vision 2025+ strategy.Based in Melbourne with a hybrid mix of time in the office and from home, this will suit a highly experienced, commercially astute and passionate finance manager to lead our Marketing and Finance teams through the delivery of new projects with a “business-first” outlook.Responsibilities of the role will include, however will not be limited to:Overall accountability for the delivery of the commercial finance operations across Marketing and Finance business unitsSupport strategic development with appropriate financial insights, analysis and modellingPrepare short-term and long-term financial plans for the marketing and finance business units, ensuring it is clearly linked to Strategy 2025+Support business leaders with commercial advice, insights, analysis and recommendations on key commercial decisionsProvide financial support and analysis for key procurement negotiations and to support marketing strategies and targets, identify and drive optimal EBIT outcomes in-line with critical KPI’sManagement and development of direct reports through coaching, mentoring and supporting key talentMonthly P&L review of distribution costs and the analysis against forecast and budgetWho are we looking for in the successful candidate?Proven experience in a commercial finance/partnering role in a complex, multifaceted environmentExperience with and passion for coaching/leading teams to realise their potentialProven experience in cost optimisation initiatives that drive business performanceProven commercial acumen skills and an ability to influence decision making through data, facts and insightsExcellent interpersonal skills to influence key internal/external stakeholders including executive teamsExperience in the retail, consumer or FMCG space will be highly regardedWhy work for us?Unique opportunity to be part of a highly engaged, successful team, focused on the transformation of an iconic Australian brandA competitive remuneration package including performance-based incentivesHybrid working arrangements in office and from home that provide appropriate work/life balanceParental leave policy of 18-weeks paid leave for the primary carer, and 3-weeks paid leave for the supporting partnerGenerous employee discounts across David Jones and access to partner benefitsAn additional day of leave for your birthday along with time to support charitable workOpportunities to support community partnerships across our Corporate Social Responsibility programBe a member of a company committed to sustainable practices, driving change in the retail landscapeOngoing training and development to pursue individual ambitionsAbout UsSince 1838, David Jones’ limitless quest for innovation and progress established the brand as Australia’s original influencer in fashion and lifestyle.
