About The Role
This role is crucial in transforming financial data into strategic insights and driving informed decision-making across the business. As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of financial planning, analysis, and commercial business partnering, ensuring that our financial strategies align with our growth objectives.
This role is based in Melbourne or Sydney.
What You'll Do
- Develop and oversee the annual budget, scenario planning, and re-forecasting process, engaging with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, assessing economic impacts and customer trends to inform assumptions.
- Create and manage comprehensive three-way financial models (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet) for accurate forecasting.
- Maintain and improve budgeting policies and procedures, collaborating with the Financial Control team to integrate with other financial processes.
- Develop a reporting framework for key budget drivers for performance updates to the Board, senior leadership, and budget owners.
- Collaborate with budget owners to analyse performance, identify risks, and propose actionable solutions.
- Partner on business papers and strategic projects, aligning costs with budget and integrating expected ROI into planning.
- Analyse market trends and competitor performance for opportunities and risks, particularly in the hospitality and technology sectors.
- Support special projects such as capital initiatives and M&A activities, including due diligence and market research
What You'll Need
- CA / CPA qualification (ideal).Advanced financial modelling skills
- Experience with three-way modelling, M&A, and financial analysis
- Strong ability to partner with various stakeholders and build trust
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Nice To Have
- Experience with payment processing cost analysis and margin optimisation
- Familiarity with Stripe and other financial platforms
- Background in the hospitality and technology industry
- Experience with capital raises and understanding of market expectations
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and governance.
