When you’re working in the private healthcare sector, you’ll get more hands-on experience, in a supported way, of course Our nurses and midwives are often the key point of communication directly between our patient and doctors.
In addition, our private healthcare nurses and midwives find they can accelerate their careers as there are more opportunities available and a greater ability for specialisation.
Given we deal with more predictable patient admissions in the private sector, it also means you’ll get more flexibility in when you work. Our leaders work hard to develop rosters that suit our people and the career and life stage they are in.
With full time or part time options available (minimum 30 hours/week), our 12-month program is coupled with an additional Consolidation Year to further support your transition to practice and develop your clinical skills and knowledge.

Hunter Valley Private Hospitalwas established by the Masons in 1965, purchased by the Hunter Valley Private Hospital in 1985, and in November 2015 purchased by Healthscope. The best people in medicine will care for you at Hunter Valley Private Hospital, the most established hospital in the Hunter area.
Dedicated to caring for people and families living in the Hunter region, at Hunter Valley Private Hospital our focus is you. Your expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and other professionals will ensure your experience is the best it can be. We provide a range of clinical services including ophthalmology, orthopaedics, plastics, gastroenterology, pain management, general surgery and ENT surgery. We are also renowned for our rehabilitation program and medical services.

Registered Nurse
Registered Nurses at Healthscope perform a wide range of activities in pursuit of delivering a high-quality patient experience. Every day is different and may include assessing patients, administering medications, providing wound care and educating patients and their families about health conditions. You will need to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, advocate for your patients and provide support to patients and their families. You will have the opportunity to continually develop, improve and promote best evidence-based practice.

Eligibility criteria for our 2025 Graduate Program includes:
· Completion of a relevant nursing or midwifery course within the last 6 months OR anticipated completion at least one month prior to commencing with us
· Willingness to commit to a minimum of 30 hours/week, a rotating roster including AM, PM, night, weekend and public holiday shifts

· Evidence of working rights within Australia (including Australian/New Zealand passport OR Australian birth certificate OR international passport and relevant Australian working visa evidence)
