About the role

The Retail Compliance team is part of the Legal, Risk, Audit, Co Sec, Compliance (LRACC) business unit. Our environment is fast paced, challenging and dynamic with continuous drive for improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance – Retail, the Manager of Broadband Compliance plays a crucial role in ensuring Origin’s expanding Broadband business adheres to broadband and telecommunications laws and regulations.

Origin is committed to complying with the laws and regulations that apply to its business operations. In this business-critical role, you will provide compliance advice and support while driving the development and implementation of compliance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise the Broadband BU at the 'front end' (eg projects, acquisitions and expansion into new activities/new markets) as well as at the 'back end' (where issues arise, or incidents occur that could potentially constitute compliance breaches)
  • lead regulatory change projects, including communicating it to the business process owners and providing practical implementation support.
  • lead compliance support for investigation and remediation of compliance incidents and draft persuasive responses to regulators on complex issues.
  • Engage with regulators and ensure the Broadband BU meets any breach reporting obligations and quality breach reports are prepared.
  • Assist with education and training of company personnel and develop work practices that minimise potential compliance risk.

What will you bring?

  • 7+ years in compliance, regulatory, legal or broadband role, ideally in an telecommunications/broadband retail business
  • Able to efficiently diagnose issues and recommend effective actions to rectify.
  • Seasoned professional who provides, and supervises the provision of, clear, concise, accurate and commercial regulatory compliance advice in a complex regulatory environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
