- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the CCBS Operational Risk Framework, ensuring policies and practices are consistent with both regulatory and group control requirements;
- Contribute to the development, management and maintenance of the CCBS Risk Appetite Framework (as described in the Risk Management Strategy), including;
- Assist with developing and maintaining the CCBS Risk Register;
- Support the Risk Profiling process by working with each department to identify the key risks;
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support the measurement of actual risk levels;
- Support with the implementation and oversight of a Risk Acceptance process; and
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of appropriate risk reporting.
- Support the ongoing adherence to BEAR and FAR regulatory requirements;
- Provide guidance and assistance to CCBS departments in regards the development and application of processes, procedures and controls;
- Under guidance assist with operational risk “deep dives” on individual departments to test controls and where necessary coordinate remediation of control improvements;
- Coordinate necessary departmental training to assist departments to manage their identified risks;
- Support the ongoing development of the Breach & Incident process; and
- Develop and maintain key relationships throughout the business as necessary, ensuring open and effective risk communications.
Pre-requisites:
- A knowledge of operational risk principles and frameworks; and
- Prior experience in contributing to the development of an operational risk capability, including risk profiling, risk registers, KRIs, risk appetite reporting, risk assurance, acceptance etc
Capabilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively;
- Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills;
- High attention to detail and process; and
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements into commercial practice and control requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in a business or accounting discipline;
- Strong understanding and previous experience of regulatory requirements;
- At least 2years experience in a “hands on” operational risk role;
- At least 3years experience at a regulated financial institution;
