Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services)
A leading small bank with excellent hybrid working arrangements and exciting growth prospects is recruiting a line 1 risk manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that risk management practices are integrated operations of the business units.
- Providing oversight and guidance to the business unit leaders and managers to identify, assess and manage risks effectively.
- Monitor key risk indicators and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of risk management activities within the business units.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management or above.
- Compliance with regulation and internal policies across account opening procedures and all operational surveillance (e.g. AML/CTF, AUSTRAC etc).
- Report on Incidents and incident management. Investigating root causes, implementing corrective actions and contributing to lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong risk culture within the business units, fostering awareness of risk management principles and encouraging proactive risk identification and mitigating efforts among staff.
- Work closely with Line 2 and Line 3 risk teams as well as business units and support functions to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management across the organisation.
Key Requirements:
- 4-8 years' experience, ideally within APRA regulated entity or risk consulting
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform with tight deadlines
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders
