We are seeking an experienced art therapist who can offer therapy across community settings to children who are intheir early years and of primary school age. The post will work across Midlothian so having access to a car forbusiness use is essential. We can offer a flexible working pattern on weekdays. We need you to be able toeffectively communicate with vulnerable children, their families and the professionals supporting them. You willreceive regular line management and external clinical supervision.

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow anddevelop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy.It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

About the service

Castlelaw Cottage is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for a young girl with a learning disability andASD. Our newly renovated house is designed to support her in having a fulfilling and active life, both withinher home and in the wider community. We understand and appreciate her unique personality and strive to create aspace where she can thrive and be supported with her individual needs.

Our young person loves the outdoors and especially enjoys local walks in the woods, regardless of the weather In thehouse a range of activities will be planned to provide engagement, physical activity and to meet sensory needs.She loves regular visits from her mother and father that may include going for walks and eating out.

We believe by allowing staff to choose between single or double shifts allows more flexibility and we have avariation of shift patterns on offer to provide you with a great work-life balance

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Our Residential Support Worker's are creative and innovative in their approach to support in making positivechoices and achieving personal goals. Some other key responsibilities are;

  • Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managingrisk.
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing familyinformation, including analysis and written reports.
  • Helping young people in all aspects of their daily lives.
  • Having goodcommunication skills and the ability to engage well with both young people, colleagues and otherprofessionals.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We're looking for someone with a ‘cando' attitude to join our team. Ideally you'll have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships throughtrust.
  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and theirfamilies.
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a teamsetting.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of therole.
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do notpossess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full supportwill be provided.

Couthie House provides long-term residential care and support to children who are unable to live within their familyhome. The service offers a stable, secure, and nurturing environment with a strong focus on individual needs anddeveloping life skills. These life skills empower each young person to make meaningful choices, develop, growup, and become resilient.

The children and young people in our care face complex learning disabilities and exhibit challenging behaviour. Webelieve that behaviour is a form of communication and with dedication and insight, we actively strive torecognise the messages embedded in behaviour. Our approach is rooted in providing the necessary support toenable positive communication.

Our Team Leader Residential plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of care and support for children whoare unable to live within their family homes. With a compassionate and dedicated approach, the Team Leaderoversees the day-to-day operations of our residential care service, fostering a stable, secure, and nurturingenvironment.

You'll lead, encourage, inspire and motivate a team of up to 14 staff and will work closely with the RegisteredManager. With a strong background in managing complex learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, thisrole exemplifies dedication, insight, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the children inour care. Your leadership is instrumental in creating an environment where every child can thrive and reachtheir full potential, as well as, creating and maintaining the culture across the services that's needed tosupport our staff.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities for the Team Leader Residential role are;

Providing direct line management to a team of residential staff to deliver high standards of care.

Support staff team development through training opportunities, staff supervision, and multidisciplinary working.

Leading shifts and working with the Registered Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements andorganisational policy and procedure.

Working to achieve positive outcomes for individual children and young people and contributing to the achievement ofan outstanding, good or equivalent rating in external inspection including deputising in the absence of theRegistered Manager.

  • Must possess SVQ4 Leadership & Management or willing to work towards within 2 years of taking uppost.
  • Experience of managing staff, also providing visible and effective leadership and management byexample.
  • SSSC registered.
  • Significant experience of working with children and young people withLearning Disabilities.
  • Demonstrate informed decision making and judgement, utilising these skills toanticipate and identify problems and find solutions
  • Good knowledge of Safeguarding, and keeping youngpeople safe.

Home-Start Edinburgh is a volunteer-led charity with over 35 years' experience working in local communities,supporting families with a child under 5 in the home. We are currently recruiting for the role of SeniorCo-ordinator (Volunteering). Whilst our Head Office is in Leith, our service provides support to families acrossthe city. This post is funded by the City of Edinburgh Council and The National Lottery.

This role will lead and manage our Family Support Co-ordinators, who in turn manage our Home Visiting volunteers,ensuring families receive holistic, high-quality support. The post holder will also lead our VolunteeringStrategy, contributing to the ongoing training and development of volunteers, including delivery of theVolunteer Prep course, as well as networking with other local organisations.
