Job Description
Knowledge and experience
- Project management, communications and graphic design experience are highly desirable.
- Experience in preparing high quality written communication content across all platforms.
- Experience in preparation and administering procurement contracts.
- Understanding the concept of workplace diversity and its contribution to effective organisational performance.
- Experience in managing a considerable workload and competing priorities.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, including liaising with internal departmental staff, industry, research organisations and universities.
- Interest/experience in the fields of biosecurity and/or science would be an advantage.
Skills and capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to understand the audience and synthesise and present complex information in a variety of mediums.
- High level project management skills, including the ability to think strategically, and identify and proactively implement effective solutions.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation/communication skills.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, self-drive and initiative.
- Display a positive and proactive attitude and demonstrate flexibility and resilience in managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of government and non-government stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team to deliver a diverse range of tasks.
The Successful Applicant
Eligibility and other requirements
- Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry you must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
- Pre-employment Check - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check and referee checks.
