About the Role
Are you passionate about digital experience, and want to help shape the future of the University's digital presence? The Digital Producer at the University of Melbourne crafts and maintains digital content, prioritising user experience and supporting stakeholders across faculties.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with Faculty, Strategic Communications and Marketing colleagues and other subject matter experts to coordinate the timely and effective publishing of engaging and effective web content
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Faculties, running workshops and requirements gathering sessions to ensure that requirements are understood, captured and shared
  • Following user-centred design processes and principles to encourage the creation of high value digital assets and data-informed Information Architecture (IA) that drives strategically important user journeys
  • Work within the University’s design system (the Matrix Controlled Environment) and CMS (Squiz Matrix) to design and produce creative and inspiring leading UX web content
  • Effectively prioritise projects and support requests for maintenance, updates and enhancements

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned professional with experience in marketing, communications, or higher education, coupled with a strong background in web management, user-centered design, and project coordination. You should have great communication skills, with the ability to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

You will also have:

  • Significant work experience within relevant marketing, communications or higher education field and tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related discipline.
  • Extensive practical experience building and maintaining websites that conform to
  • University web standards and guidelines, such as accessibility and brand
  • Deep familiarity with user-centred design, and an eye for producing web content that engages users and takes them where they need to go
  • Demonstrated background in content management systems, preferably Squiz Matrix
  • Solid understanding of web development and project management processes

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
